Our PVC-Free Roller Banner material is a greybacked 260gsm Polyester-based material that is available as an option on our Roller Banner range.
It has an opaque grey back which prevents light show-through, giving your graphic maximum visibility. This also prevents one of the common roller banner problems: the pole casting a shadow from behind.
The material has true lay-flat properties and its flexibility means it's much more durable than some other materials in its class.
The matte, slightly textured finish means that minimal light reflects off the face of the graphic. This finish is also scratch resistant, preventing minor damage.

Roller banners (pull up banners) come in lots of different sizes. Our standard roller banner which is our most popular roller banner measures 85cm wide x 2m tall (850mm x 2000mm).
There are also options to have roller banners in different widths including, 85cm side, 1m wide, 1.5m wide, 2m wide and our ‘Banner Torque Stand’ spans 2.4m wide x 2.4m tall.
The market for roller banners is very large and lucrative, but a quick look online will illustrate a huge difference in prices and specifications.
Some retailers will show a budget roller banner at low costs. How can they do this? Easy, have a look at the graphic panel specification and you'll see they are using standard PVC. However, change the material to a lay-flat, light-stop graphic and the price increases significantly. There are a number of problems with using standard PVC: firstly the graphic will not sit flat as shown in their pictures, it will curl quite dramatically on the left and right-hand edges. Also, if there's any light behind the unit, you'll see the shadow of the pole running down the centre of the graphic, rendering the unit as good as unusable.
All of our roller banners* are printed onto our grey-backed SoFlat, light-stop material whether the unit is a standard Raptor or a premium roller banner. In addition, all of our roller banner graphics are printed on our VUTEk h5 printers, which are the large-format equivalent of a Rolls Royce, so our print quality is always superb.
*The only exception is if you opt for our single use roller banner which is high quality inkjet printed onto tearproof vinyl or grey back PVC. We do not advice this for roller banners you plan on re-using over a longer period.
